POSCST physicians are participating “in-network” providers for most major health insurance plans. Some of these plans include:
EXAMPLES OF NON-PARTICIPATING PLANS
We encourage you to contact your insurance plan to verify that the physician is a participating provider prior to calling to schedule your child’s appointment. Most insurance plans can provide a list of “in-network” providers. The plan contact numbers can be found on your insurance card. Many plans also have this information available on their website.
HMO Plans. All HMO plans require a referral from your child’s primary care physician prior to scheduling an appointment.
Insurance Verification. It is the policy of POSCST to verify insurance benefits before your child is seen. Should we be unable to verify active benefits by the appointment day, you will be required to pay for the visit in full at the time of service. You will be promptly reimbursed after the claim is filed and we receive payment from your insurance carrier. Please contact your insurance provider prior to your appointment day to ensure that your benefits are active, and to inquire about deductibles and co-payments to a specialist that you will be required to pay.
Plan Limits. Many plans have limits and/or exclusions that apply to your child’s medical care. Each plan is unique. We recommend that you check with your insurance provider in advance to find out what services, diagnostic studies and durable medical equipment are covered and what your financial responsibilities are under the plan. We utilize online real time adjudication services for many of our contracted plans. We will expect payment at the time of service to the extent that we are able to determine in advance what your financial responsibility for our medical services will be.
Co-payments and Deductibles. Your health insurance plan may require you to pay co-payments for a specialist office visit and/or meet a yearly deductible. Co-payments are a contractual agreement between you and your health plan as well as between POSCST and your health plan. If they are not paid, your insurance carrier has the right to deny the charges, which may leave you responsible for the entire amount.
Co-payments and deductibles are expected and collected at the time of service regardless of who the insurance subscriber is. Please be sure that whoever brings your child to their appointment brings payment with them. For your convenience we accept cash, checks, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover or debit cards and Care Credit.
